Dr. Joseph Lalia
After graduating from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011, Dr. Lalia spent the next 4 years completing his residency in Adult Psychiatry at Nassau University Medical Center, in East Meadow NY. Following graduation from his residency, Dr. Lalia completed his training by sub-specializing in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital system and the Miami VA Hospital. Since 2016, Dr. Lalia has worked in the field of addiction and in private practice, as both a clinical and forensic psychiatrist. He is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry.
Tim Davis, PA
Tim Davis is a physician assistant with over 10 years experience in addiction medicine. While working in primary care, Mr. Davis recognized the need for quality, compassionate medical care for people in early recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. He then devoted his career to helping people seeking treatment, receive quality, effective healthcare to manage often overlooked medical conditions. Teaching prevention and proactive methods for managing medical concerns has been his passion. He brings to The Beaches Treatment Center a wealth of knowledge and experience to help make a broken person whole again.
LAURA MARULLO, PSY.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Marullo has more than 25 years of experience as a Licensed Psychologist. She was previously licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. In addition to private practice, in the past 13 years Dr. Marullo has been the Clinical Director of several substance abuse treatment centers, working with both clients and their families. Because those individuals in early recovery have difficulties with cognitive distortions and perceptions, she will assist them in fighting their disease of addiction until they are able to fight for themselves. This is achieved through psychoeducation (of both the individual and their family members) and behavioral changes. As the Clinical Director she designed the program at The Beaches Treatment Center based on empirically valid treatment approaches. Her passion is working in Substance Abuse treatment with individuals and their families and utilizes the Family Systems Model in her work with clients of all ages. Dr. Marullo has expertise working with clients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Director of Opperations
Jeff Bean is the Director of Operations who has worked in the fields of Substance Abuse and Mental Health for over 15 years. Jeff has been a Case Manager, Primary Therapist and a Program Director over the course of his career, and he has worked in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors.
Jeff believes in partnering with clients and their families in order to develop individualized treatment goals that address each person’s specific needs. He focuses on helping clients to change their mindsets in order to achieve different results in body, spirit and relationships.
Jeff is a Certified Addictions Professional and holds a degree in Psychology from Vanderbilt University.
Nicole A. Reid, LMHC
Nicole A. Reid is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. She graduated from Florida International University with her undergraduate degree in Psychology, and later earned her graduate degree in Clinical Psychology from Barry University. Nicole has over four years of experience in substance abuse treatment and the treatment of co-occurring disorders, and 10 years of experience working with adolescents. Nicole believes that change happens when people are provided with the guidance and support they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential. She provides an environment of compassion and support to help individuals and families overcome obstacles to move forward and lead happy, fulfilling lives.
Director of Business Development
Michael Simmons, Director of Business Development, grew up in New Bedford, MA. Michael began experimenting with drugs at a very young age. As an adult, he finally made the decision to attend a treatment facility in Florida. With the help of God and the twelve steps of AA, he was able to finally able to get his life back. His extensive work in the addiction field and the many relationships he has built with people in the community, helped him to rise to become the Director of Business Development for The Beaches Treatment Center. Michael is passionate about helping others to combat their addictions just as he was able to. He is proof that hard work and dedication can help you overcome any obstacle.
